Dr. Linda Dowling-Hetherington, BComm, MBS, EdD
Linda Dowling-Hetherington has over fourteen years experience in the management and development of part-time distance learning programmes. She has been Associate Director of the Centre for Distance Learning, UCD School of Business since its establishment in 2002. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce, a Master of Business Studies and a Certificate in Adult Education from UCD. Linda has completed a Doctorate in Education at the University of Bath. Linda's areas of research interest include widening participation for mature students, student-centred approaches to the management of distance learning programmes, academic competencies development and change in higher education and its impact on academic staff.

Dr. Orna Ryan, BSocSc, H Dip (UTL), MBS (HRM), EDD
Orna joined the Centre for Distance Learning in 2002, after graduating from the Graduate School of Business. She is the Learning Support Officer for the Bachelor of Business Studies (part-time programme). She has also completed a Higher Diploma in University Teaching and Learning (UCD) and a Certificate in Training and Continuing Education (NUI, Maynooth) and is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (UK). Orna has now completed her doctorate at University of Edinburgh in the field of tertiary educational policy development. Her areas of research interest include globalisation and education policy, teaching-learning environments for part-time students and development of academic competencies.

Oonagh Sweeney, BBS, MBS
Oonagh is a Programme Manager/Learning Support Officer with the Centre for Distance Learning since January 2008. Oonagh holds a Bachelor of Business Studies Degree from University College Cork, a Master of Business Studies and a Certificate in Adult Education from UCD. Her background is in the areas of career guidance, management development training and education management.

Antonio Garzón-Vico, Licenciado en Filosofia (UGR), Mlitt Philosophy (UCD).Antonio is the Overseas Programmes Manager since November 2007. He holds a Degree in Philosophy from ‘Universidad de Granada’ and a Mlitt in Philosphy from University College Dublin. He is currently completing a PhD in Management in the School of Business. Antonio’s areas of research interest include knowledge management and decision making. His previous work experience has been in the BComm (Spain) programme and the Finance Department in UCD.

Sinéad D’Arcy BEd, MiM
Sinéad joined the Centre for Distance Learning team as a Programme Manager/Learning Support Officer in January 2009. Sinéad holds a Bachelor of Education Degree from Trinity College Dublin, and a Masters in Management from UCD Michael Smurfit School of Business. Her background is in the areas of education and HR, specialising in the development of graduate development programmes. Sinéad has been involved in the development of graduate programmes for one of Irelands leading banks and one of Irelands leading engineering companies.

Michelle is the Programme Administrator for the BSc Police Leadership programme. Previously, she worked as a Programme Administrator in the UCD School of Architecture. Michelle holds a Bachelor of Education Degree from Griffith College Dublin. Her background is in business, specifically account management and customer care, having worked for a leading software organisation for 19 years prior to joining UCD. She is currently undertaking an MSc in iBusiness & ICT at UCD.

Sharyn recently joined the Centre for Distance Learning as a Programme Administrator for the School’s international programmes. Sharyn is a graduate of the Bachelor of Business Studies programme at UCD, graduating in 2006. Her background is in Learning and Development and Industrial Relations having worked in these fields in a leading multinational Insurance organisation for over ten years.
