Biography

Paul McGrath is a lecturer in the areas of Organizational Behaviour, Organizational Theory and Change Management in the UCD Michael Smurfit School of Business. He has held a visiting teaching position in the Department of Management at the University of Melbourne. He has a PhD from the Warwick Business School in the UK gained in 2000. Previously Paul worked for 11 years in the Irish civil service. He has engaged in a range of consulting and training assignments in the Irish public, private and voluntary sectors. His current research interests include: (a)  the changing dynamics of organizational design in particular the shift towards cellular or holographic modes of organizing (b) on difficulties organizations have in investigating and learning from mistakes and the challenges of managing risk in dynamic and high risk work contexts(c) s. He has received awards for both his teaching and research.
