This 4 year Bachelor of Commerce (International) programme will provide you with everything you need to pursue a career in international business, while also developing your language and intercultural abilities.
If you are interested in business and have a passion for languages, or if you are just looking to dazzle your future employer with your business and language skills, this course is for you!
Language options include:

In semester 1 you will choose 2 languages to study equally from the list below.

- French
- German
- Italian
- Portuguese
- Spanish
You can select these languages using the codes in the table below e.g. DN660 FRG (French and German). Following semester 1, students will decide which language to continue with to degree level (as a minor) and will discontinue the other.
With the exception of French (HC3 requirement), applicants have the option to study these languages from beginner level.

Stage 1 and 2 (First and Second Year)
Your business studies will mirror the new Commerce curriculum. You will develop your knowledge of the foundations of business and focus on the core learning skills and competencies you will need to succeed in university. You will also take core modules in your chosen languages, including studies in literature and culture.
Stage 3 (Third Year)
You will study at one of our prestigious partner universities and business schools in Europe or China, allowing you to integrate your business education while also experiencing the country’s culture and society.
You will choose between the following 2 options:
Option 1: BComm International (Modern Languages)
You will attend one of our partner European/Chinese universities or business schools where you will continue your studies in the host language (with the exception of Chinese, where students will study a combination of language classes along with business modules through English). When you return to UCD in Stage 4 (fourth year), you will continue your language studies along with your studies in business.
Option 2: BComm International (Global Business)
You will attend one of our partner international universities or business schools where you will continue your studies in English. In fourth year, when you return to UCD, you will continue to develop your global business and intercultural skills, but will no longer pursue structured language options.
