The three year BSc (Economics & Finance) degree at UCD Quinn School is regarded as one of the premier finance degrees in Ireland and provides you with everything you will need for a successful career in the areas of banking and finance. If you have a strong interest in and aptitude for economics, maths and statistics then this is the perfect degree for you.
Our graduates work both in Ireland and abroad in areas such as stockbroking/trading, insurance management, investment management, fund management and corporate finance.
The BSc (Economics & Finance) introduces you to the mathematical and statistical techniques used in both economics and finance, as well as providing a wide range of courses to develop both the theoretical and the applied aspects of each area. The subject areas share a common thread with the fields of quantitative methods, microeconomics and international monetary and finance theory.
Stage 1 (First Year)
The first stage of your degree concentrates on developing your knowledge and understanding of the basic subjects and principles underlying economics and finance.
Stage 2 (Second Year)
During Stage 2 you will focus on areas such as Taxation, Financial Economics, Industrial Organisation and International Financial Management.
Stage 3 (Third Year)
You will have the flexibility to specialise in the areas that most interest you. For example: Maths Analysis, Financial Economics, Applied Computation or Managerial Finance.
