Center For Service Learning and Community Engagement

Why Get Involved?

Service Learning is an educational trend long established in US universities and business schools. At UCD Quinn School we have set up the Centre for Service Learning and Community Engagement to co-ordinate community engagement and volunteering. This allows Stage 2 students engage in projects with non-profit organisations who have professional needs, ranging from sector analysis to web development.

It's a win-win situation. It ensures you have the opportunity to practise what you have learned in a real business environment while at the same time giving something back to the community. And the organisations also benefit from your fresh perspectives, new business skills and enthusiasm.
Indeed, these not-for-profit internships have now been made into a ‘for credit' programme at UCD Quinn School and a Service Learning elective module can be chosen by up to 25 students. It's an area that is growing in popularity, so get in there fast.

Projects are matched with students' interests, wherever possible, and cover research, marketing projects, accountancy, events organising, web design and report writing.
