When are the application deadlines?
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis (first come, first served) but we urge students to apply several months in advance. Notification of when the application system opens is sent to our partner Universities. An acceptance is sent after an online complete application is received and eligibility is verified. Upon acceptance, students are required to confirm their acceptance, but no deposit is required.
Will the credits transfer?
At the end of the semester, the UCD Quinn School of Business sends an official transcript to the home institution. The home institution decides on credits to be awarded for modules completed at UCD. We will be pleased to provide full information on our modules to enable institutions to make decisions regarding the transfer of credits.
When do I register for classes?
Once you have been offered a place you should fill out the module registration form (step 3 on the Apply now page).
This form must be completed and signed by your home University Co-ordinator, and submitted before the deadline stated.
Can I register for a class outside the UCD Quinn School of Business?
Students are not permitted to take modules from any other College or School at UCD.
When will I get my class schedule?
Students will be advised on arrival at the UCD Quinn School of Business Orientation Session as to the business modules they have been registered to based on their Module Registration form and not before. Students can access their timetable via the SIS website.
Can I change my class schedule?
When students have been advised of the modules they are registered to, they will not be permitted to ADD or DROP modules under any circumstances.
Do I have to take the Irish History module?
Study Abroad students are required to take a special module focusing on Irish History and Culture. This module is taught under the same structure as the business modules and is compulsory. Field trips to places of historical interest are an integral component of this module.
Where will I live while in Dublin?
Students are given the option to either live on campus in the UCD Residences or Off Campus in private apartments/houses in and close to the city centre.
On Campus
There are limited places available in the on campus accommodation should email the UCD study abroad coordinator when they are applying to state that they would like to live on campus. When the study abroad coordinator submits the student’s names to the residences office, the UCD residences office will then contact the student directly.
From this point it is up to the student to ensure that they complete and return all the forms sent to them by the residences office as well as pays their deposits before the deadlines. If students fail to meet the on campus accommodation office deadlines, they will loose their place on campus.
Off Campus
Again students should email the UCD study abroad coordinator when they are applying to state that they would like to live in off campus accommodation. The UCD study abroad office will organise all off campus accommodation for students.
Can I arrive early/stay late?
The date that your accommodation will be available to move into will be sent to you via email. If you decide to arrive before this date you will be responsible for finding and paying for your own accommodation until you can move into your organised accommodation. You must inform your landlords within the first week or two of your arrival, if you are planning to stay longer for several days after the program ends.
Are there meal deals available on campus?
