Summer Internship Programme

Today’s global economy demands graduates with a global perspective. The UCD Quinn School of Business Summer Internship Programme provides challenging international work experience in a uniquely stimulating location – the modern European city of Dublin.

The rich culture of Dublin experienced through the lens of an internship offers students the opportunity to integrate into Irish life. Students benefit greatly by fine-tuning their communication skills and developing practical professional skills. Placements are in prestigious Irish and International companies in varied industry sectors, in addition to smaller innovative organizations.

Part of the thrill of an internship abroad will be discovering the cultural differences between themselves and their co-workers relate to each other. You will hopefully return with new perspectives and new ideas about how to negotiate in cross-cultural situations

UCD Quinn School of Business Summer Internship Programme is an eight week programme, which consists of a six week internship placement at a leading Irish/International company in a choice of the following areas:

  • Banking and Finance
  • Business Management and International Business
  • Human Resources Management
  • Management Information Systems/Information Technology
  • Marketing

Our previous participants worked with the following companies:

Bank Of Scotland

Bank Of Ireland

Vodafone

GE Money

Accenture

Aer Aran

In addition to the Internship, students are required to take a special module focusing on Irish History and Culture. This module is taught intensively during the first week of the Programme. Field trips to places of historical interest are an integral component of this module.

Both the Internship and Irish History module will be awarded 3 US credits each.

UCD will send an official transcript to the home institution at the end of the programme. The home institution decides on credits to be awarded. We will be pleased to provide full information to enable institutions to make decisions regarding the transfer of credits.
