Academic Council (AC)

Introduction

The Academic Council (AC) oversees the University's academic activity. Academic Council's primary responsibilities (as defined by Statute) are to:

  • Stimulate debate on major strategic and academic issues.
  • Promote the highest standards of teaching and learning.
  • Approve and review academic regulation and policy.
  • Maintain oversight of education delivery and assessment.
  • Advise the Governing Authority on academic matters.

Academic Council has delegated some of its specific decision-making responsibilities to sub-committees.
