Adjunct and Visiting Staff
Policy Summary
The purpose of the Adjunct Staff policy is to outline the process for the appointment of adjunct staff. Adjunct appointees are individuals whose appointment will enhance the teaching or research profile of a School, Research Institute or College and contribute to the intellectual life of the University. Normally, adjunct staff are either fully employed elsewhere or retired from such employment. This policy includes information about the eligibility criteria for Adjunct appointees; the appointment process and the role of adjunct appointees.
The Visiting Academic Staff policy includes information about the eligibility criteria, the appointment process and the role of visiting appointees.
Visiting Academic Staff are individuals whose appointment to the academic staff will enhance the teaching or research profile of a School, Institute or College and contribute to the intellectual life of the University. There are four levels of visiting appointments: Visiting Professor, Visiting Associate Professor, Visiting Senior Lecturer and Visiting Lecturer.
