Summary
The UCD Programme Development, Approval and Review Framework brings together a number of inter-related processes regarding programme design, development and delivery in a way which creates an over-arching framework through which the University manages its programmes. In doing so, this framework responds to the needs and expressed preferences of both academics and administrators who have articulated a desire for a more comprehensive, stream-lined and better co-ordinated approach of all the processes and procedures associated with programme management.
UCD Programme Development, Approval and Review Framework
The PDARF process comprises of the following phases:
The UCD Programme Development, Approval and Review Framework operates through a series of four cycles that run throughout the academic session. There are normally two cycles in the autumn semester and two cycles in the spring semester.
Programme proposers are strongly advised to ensure that New Programme Proposals are received in the autumn cycles – this ensures that there is sufficient time to consider such proposals and address any follow-up queries and/or clarifications, to ensure that the programme can be advertised in a timely fashion in a way that can maximise advertising and student recruitment. Programme Changes and Derogations may be submitted in any cycle throughout the academic session.
