What is new in 2010/11?

  • Payment dates and the proportion you pay at different points in the year have changed for undergraduate 'free fees' students and graduate 'full year' students.
  • Students may pay fees by semester
  • If you are on a 1 semester programme - all fees must be paid in advance
  • If you are on a 2 semester programme - you may pay your fee in halves by semester
  • If you are on a 3 semester programme - you may pay your fee in thirds by semester
  • Where a student is receiving funding from a third party source, students must pay either a half or a third ( whichever is applicable to the programme ) of the student's remaining personal liability in order to be a registered student of the University.

How can you pay fees?

Fees can be paid quickly and easily on line. You can do this very conveniently when registering on line.

Giro payments
  • should be paid through any bank in the Republic of Ireland
  • should be completed 5 working days prior to commencement (they can take this long to be processed)
  • Please retain receipt

Late offers/acceptances
  • Fees must be paid within two weeks of receipt of fee payment forms in the case of students who accept late offers of a place in the University

Consequences of incomplete/delayed payment
  • ID Card
    You must pay at least the first instalment of your fees, as noted above, to get your ID card or, if you have one already, have it re-validated. You will not have access to the library without a valid ID card
  • Access to exam results will be blocked
  • Final year students will not be permitted to graduate until full fees and, where applicable, fines have been paid
  • Continuing students will not be progressed to the following year of their programme
  • Access to transcripts etc. will be blocked (with the exception of the certificate of attendance)

ID Cards
  • New students: you must pay the first instalment of your fees to be able to collect your ID card
  • Continuing students: you must pay the first instalment of your fees to re-validate your ID card
  • A valid ID card is required for access to the Library
  • All students are required to carry their ID card at all times on the campus
