A SHORT NOTE ON LEAVE OF ABSENCE

Regulation 2.5 of the UCD General Regulations states:
"LEAVE OF ABSENCE: Where a student wishes to obtain a leave of absence from the University, they must apply to the appropriate governing board (Programme Board for undergraduate programmes, Graduate School Board for graduate programmes) of their programme."

It is essential that a student should communicate with their Programme as soon as is reasonably possible should they identify a possible need for Leave of Absence. It is extremely important that a student maintains a timely and accurate account of their registration in relation to their programme at all times. In this regard, if wishing to get a leave of absence the student is obliged to seek this in advance of their leave of absence from the University.
