Payments will only be processed for staff whose annual nomination as an Intern Examiner has been approved by the Academic Council on Examinations (ACCE) and staff who are ex officio Intern Examiners.
Intern Examiners submit their claim through Employee Self Service (ESS) system
, please complete a HR online set-up form
if you have not already done so. Once your set up form is processed, HR will send you a log in and claim details. When logging into the ESS system select the relevant payment type and number of Assessment corrected/hours completed. The claim will then be automatically calculated and subject to the standard UCD level 1 and 2 approval process.
Please ask your School who is your UCD Level 1 and 2 approver before beginning your claim. If you have not claimed via ESS before and you have not received an email advising you to do so please contact your school administrator in relation to creating an online set up form.
A ‘step by step’ guide can be found is detailed in the Intern Examiner Payment Process Map
- your claim should be per complete exam script
(item) corrected - this may be for a 1 hour, 2 hour or 3 hour exam.
The previous method of Exam Script correction (paper-based claim) involved examiners entering the following information:
- Total number of questions to be answered by student e.g. 5
- Total number of questions corrected by examiner e.g. 50
- Total number of complete scripts corrected = 50/5 = 10 complete scripts
is the figure that will need to be entered in the item box in the drop-down menu of your timesheet on Employee Self Service.
