Dear Colleagues

As you may already be aware there are a number of changes happening for Registration Season 2012/13.  Some of the key changes are highlighted below.  This information will also be sent to continuing students in an email planned for 17 April.

Start Times for Registration – during the summer, students will be able to book a start time for their Online Module Registration.

How does this affect current students?

  • This approach will deliver a better online experience and more effectively manage system load
  • Students will know exactly the date/time from which they may start online module registration
  • Over the coming months, students will receive email communication about this and information will be published on http://www.ucd.ie/students/starttimes.html as well as through our other communications channels.  The first email to the students is planned for Tues, 17 April.

If you would like to know more, short information sessions for staff will take place on:

  • Wednesday, 25 April 2012 from 12-1pm in Q012, Quinn School of Business.
  • Thursday, 26 April. 2012 from 12-1pm in A003, Health Sciences.

There will also be more information at the Registration 2012 Planning and Information sessions in June, July and August.

Single Grant Authority – this replaces Local Authorities for new grant applicants. A new Online Only application system will be available from May 2012.

How does this affect current students?

Students already in receipt of a grant and just moving to the next stage of a programme will continue to deal with their local authority or VEC.
However, if a student is changing their course or progressing to a new course (e.g. going into a Graduate Programme) they will need to apply online for their grant.
