NovaUCD provides the expertise and supports necessary to help UCD researchers move ideas successfully from the lab into the marketplace. It is also the primary contact point for companies seeking partners for collaborative research or wishing to pursue other commercial opportunities.
Over 60 high-tech and knowledge-intensive companies have occupied incubation space at NovaUCD and availed of NovaUCD’s related innovation services since 2004.
170 new ventures and 260 individuals have completed NovaUCD’s Campus Company Development Programme (CCDP) which has run annually since 1996. The CCDP assists academic and research entrepreneurs at UCD in bringing their innovative ideas from intellectual concepts to fully developed and sound commercial businesses.
Participants on the programme have the opportunity to access NovaUCD’s desk space, incubation facilities and associated innovation services.
40 innovative companies are currently located at NovaUCD including UCD spin-out companies, BiancaMed, Equinome, HeyStaks, OncoMark and Wattics.
NovaUCD offers training and continuing professional development on various aspects of intellectual property and commercialisation.
NovaUCD is an active member of a number of leading international networks of technology transfer professionals including AURIL, AUTM, UNICA, LES, Institute of Knowledge Transfer and ProTon Europe.
