A research leader in many fields, including sustainability and competitiveness of agriculture, health and welfare of animals, quality and security of food and improved consumer well-being, the UCD School of Agriculture, Food Science and Veterinary Medicine is currently recruiting upwards of sixty researchers to take up postgraduate and postdoctoral positions in the School.

Throughout the year, the school has obtained major research funding from a range of agencies and funding bodies and is consequently recruiting a record number of postgraduate and postdoctoral researchers across the following thematic areas: animal science, food and health, pathobiology of disease, sustainable agriculture and veterinary clinical studies.

In line with the national strategy to increase the number of trained postgraduate researchers, the School of Agriculture, Food Science and Veterinary Medicine has a unique role to play across the whole spectrum of Food for health because of its major programmes in Veterinary Medicine, Animal Science, Food Science and Sustainable Agriculture.

Successful funding opportunities have come from the Department of Agriculture and Food (FIRM and Research Stimulus), Science Foundation Ireland, Enterprise Ireland, EU 6th Framework Programme, Environmental Protection Agency, Teagasc and commercial companies.

Full information on all current research opportunities in the School is available on the School website http://www.ucd.ie/agfoodvet/. New research opportunities will be advertised in the coming months and all updated information will be published on the website.
