The recently published Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) Academic Ranking of World Universities 2006 ranks University College Dublin among the top 301-400 universities in the world.
Within this ranking, UCD is placed as the Irish university with the highest Science Citation Index (a compilation of all the cited references from journal articles published during a particular year linked to their source article). UCD is also ranked as the Irish university with the highest number of articles published in Nature & Science. Overall, UCD’s relative position has moved up from the 401- 500 rank last year.
The world's best five universities, in order, were Harvard, Cambridge, Stanford, California (Berkeley), and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
