Designs for learning competition

Sunday, 11 September, 2011

We want to find people with the most exciting, creative and of course, feasible ideas that help people learn.

With NDRC Inventorium and The  Science Gallery Dublin’s Designs for Learning competition, we want to find the ideas that best link learning between home, school and gallery.

We’re offering five finalists €3,000 each to develop their ideas, after which they will go on to compete for a further€5,000, along with support to make their idea a reality.

This public competition is open to anyone who has a great idea. And while we’re enthusiastic about digital ideas, we also know that innovation comes inall forms — it’s not mandatory for ideas to be digital.

Here’s what the judges will look for:

We encourage entries from newly formed teams, existing companies and organisations already working in the area.

And while it’s open to all, you’ll be asked on the application about your ability to deliver the idea, so you’ll want to make sure you show how you’d make the most of your team’s skills.

How do I apply?

If you’d like to know more, please read the criteria and guidelines carefully, follow the application form notes, and return your completed application toteresa@inventorium.org by 5pm Friday, 30 September 2011. Download the application form here.

When will I hear?

A panel will review all applications in early October, and select the five finalists who will receive €3,000 to develop their idea over an intensive six-week period. These finalists will be announced on 17 October 2011.

At the end of the six weeks, finalists will pitch their developed idea in a competition final. The winner will receive €5,000, along with other support that will make their idea happen.
