TRIL was highlighted as unique and credible approach to addressing the needs of older people in an engaging and meaningful manner in a report prepared by the Alberta Advanced Education and Technology in cooperation with Alberta Health and Wellness and Alberta Health Services.
TRIL was only one of two regional European programmes reviewed, the other being the Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) Joint Programme which provides over €1bn for investment in ICT research (2008-2013) to improve the lives of older people.
TRIL was recognised as a programme that sees the potential to use ICT (Information and Communication Technology) to support healthy
independent ageing.
