The UCD College of Engineering and Architecture is a key player in developing rigorously trained, creative, engineers and architects who are vital for achieving a knowledge-based, sustainable future.
The College leads a number of research themes including Energy Systems, Critical Infrastructure and Bioengineering, and contributes significantly to UCD College of Science themes in Nanobio Science and Engineering and Computational Modelling.
In addition to publications in leading peer-reviewed journals and growing levels of industry engagement, the College works to advance research and innovation in many industry sectors including engineering, architecture, energy, biomedicine, medical devices, transport, communications, construction and manufacturing.
There are 7 Academic Research Centres established in the College. Each Centre comprises a director, academic staff, associated research staff, and students, all of whom have a common research expertise and work towards a shared programme of sustainable activity.
