About UCD College of Human Sciences

The College has 200 staff and almost 4,500 students across ten Schools that bring together a broad range of disciplines including the social sciences, psychology, geography and philosophy.

 

Key areas of research

The College is a prolific research centre, with its staff members responsible for a vast amount of pioneering research, which is extensively published in leading academic journals and books.

Outputs

Academics from the College have received research awards from the Irish Council for the Humanities and Social Sciences, the Royal Irish Academy, North-South Bodies and public agencies across Ireland and Europe. The College offers a wide range of challenging and socially relevant programmes at graduate level. It also has a large body of doctoral students and has established a Human Sciences Graduate School to spearhead postgraduate studies and build further on the College’s excellent reputation for research.

Collaboration

The College has links to many universities and research institutes worldwide. Within UCD, it is aligned with the UCD Geary Institute, one of Ireland’s leading social science institutes.
