UCD John Hume Institute for Global Irish Studies

The mission of the UCD John Hume Institute for Global Irish Studies is to engage with the 80 million people around the world who identify themselves in some way with Ireland and Irishness.

About UCD John Hume Institute for Global Irish Studies

The Institute is named in honour of the politician and Nobel Laureate John Hume. Current staffing includes the Institute Director, Dr Brian Jackson, and four associated Principal Investigators, together with four additional research staff, five funded postdoctoral research staff and six PhD students. A further six PhD students are currently being recruited.

Funding

The Institute’s academic research programme is funded under Cycle 4 of the Programme for Research in Third Level Institutions.
