ABOUT NDRCNDRC is an independent enterprise dedicated to accelerating research from idea to income. NDRC's collaborative approach with technology and business innovators drives greater collective success while cultivating bolder attitudes towards invention and investment. With a dedicated commercialisation team, a neutral space for teams to work alongside other digital innovation projects, and an investment fund, NDRC is accelerating the rate of innovation,
with a strong focus on creating market capital.
NDRC's investment programmes:
NDRC's Inventorium toolkit provides methods
and processes for building collaborations; generating ideas; and turning those ideas into business propositions
Through the Catalyser collaborative innovation programme, NDRC builds joint venture projects with companies and research partners to provide expertise and investment into research-led or research-informed digital ventures.
NDRC LaunchPad Accelerator is an investment programme that supports the next generation of digital entrepreneurs. Through investment and a tailored 12 week programme, small teams focus on increasing their revenue and investment potential.
All NDRC projects and start-ups are targeted at research and technology commercialisation, developing and marketing new ICT/digital products and services in the areas of healthcare, entertainment, education, and green tech.
Key competencies include software engineering and data management; digital content technologies; human technology interfaces; and network infrastructures.
Following its first investments in 2008, NDRC is fully established as an essential part of the Irish innovation ecosystem. NDRC has worked with partners to secure follow-on investment of €4.8 million to date. This figure stands as proof that NDRC's model is working to bridge the gap between research and commercial enterprise. The company is working with UCD and other third level institutions across Ireland to source great ideas, execute with excellence, and exploit to maximise returns for its collaborators and
the economy.
With over 300 people connected to the enterprise, NDRC has invested in 40 research- inspired start-ups and unincorporated joint venture projects with research and company partners.
NDRC was founded by a consortium of third-level institutions: University College Dublin, Dublin City University, Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design & Technology, the National College of Art & Design, and Trinity College Dublin.
