UCD continues to build its reputation as a destination of choice for leading research talent, one that provides an environment in which research leaders can innovate and excel. While the university recognises the important contribution made by researchers working on their own or in teams, the majority of today’s researchers work in larger teams, often within multidisciplinary groups, tackling problems from a number of different angles.  

There are now upwards of 60 Research Groups within UCD. Over half of them are located within the College of Engineering, Mathematical & Physical Sciences; the remainder is spread across the other four Colleges – Arts & Celtic Studies, Business & Law, Human Sciences and Life Sciences.
