UCD Institute of Food and Health

The UCD Institute of Food and Health is a multidisciplinary campus-wide initiative, dedicated to conducting world-class food and health research, promoting public awareness of food and health issues and informing Irish and EU policies.

About UCD Institute of Food and Health

The Institute is unique in Ireland and Europe in bringing together leading academics from all areas of food and health research.

Funding

With competitively-achieved funding from the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Enterprise Ireland, Science Foundation Ireland, the Programme for Research in Third Level Institutions and other public and private funders, food and health research income at UCD came to over €25 million in 2008 and accounts for almost 20 per cent of research income at the university.

The UCD Schools affiliated with the UCD Institute of Food and Health are the UCD School of Agriculture, Food Science and Veterinary Medicine and the UCD School of Public Health and Population Sciences.
