| Born in London, 1949 and educated in Sussex with a multiple emphasis on sciences. Primary degree in Biology (with Biochemistry specialisations) from the University of York, UK; Ph.D. on the seasonal control of primary prodcutivity in forest trees from the University of Exeter, UK. Assistant Lecturer and College Lecturer in the Department of Agricultural Botany of the UCD Faculty of Agriculture; College Lecturer and Senior Lecturer after reorganisation into the Department of Environmental Resource Management. Retrained in Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) from 1989, reinforced by life-long interests in traditional culture and some practical experience in field archaeology. Assumed responsibility for the taught MSc(Agr) in Environmental Resource Management in 1990; devised and became Academic Director for the UCD Diploma in EIA Management (now UCD Diploma in EIA & SEA Management) in 1992. |
