| The design of Collective Housing, in particular in the period 1955-1970. Currently undertaking a Research Masters on the housing projects of Jose Antonio Coderch. This is focused on the Banco Urquijo project in Barcelona from 1967 and is using a combination of drawing and text to place this work in the context of the critical discussions of Team 10 ongoing at the time. |

| My principal teaching interest is in the design of housing and public space. The difficulty of balancing scales in housing design, between the city and the individual dwelling, is a constant source of investigation. Equally, the making of a believable public realm is an ongoing concern. I have a strong belief in the importance of precedent in teaching architectural design. I am interested in the difference between creativity and originality, where creative thinking is about working with givens or within a system, as opposed to a need to be constantly original. |
