Biography

Having graduated from Bolton Street Institute of Technology and Trinity College Dublin with a degree in Construction Economics in 1990, William worked as a Professional Quantity Surveyor from 1990-1993. Between 1993-1995, he studied for and obtained the Master in Regional and Urban Planning. From 1995 to 2000, William worked with Aer Rianta, the airport authority, as an airport planner. He was appointed a Lecturer in UCD in September 2000. He is also currently Director of Postgraduate Planning Degrees.

Research

Research Interests

William's research interests focus on Transportation and Land Use Planning, and in particular Airport Planning. He completed his PhD at University College Dublin, which is titled 'Planning for Airport Demand and Accommodation: An Integrated Planning Methodology for Assessment of Airport Capacity', in the summer of 2003.
