FOCUS 2: HISTORY, ARTS and DESIGN
Member of the CrossBorder Network European Forum of History and Arts

The ¿CrossBorder Network of History and Arts¿ was initiated and is coordinated by Anna Bulanda-Patntalacci, profes¬sor at the University of Applied Sciences Trier. Since 2007, the network, is organizing trans-boundary, interdisciplinary projects on a yearly basis. These projects are dedicated to themes of art historic relevance in Europe and share the goal to establish a practical and permanent cooperation among universities in the cultural sector. Universities from the ¿Greater Region¿ consiting of Germany, France, Luxembourg and Belgium form the core of the network. During the course of the project more European and non-European partners from Poland, Ireland, Italy, USA, Canada and Georgia joined the network.
The fluxus between history and art in an international environment allows the participants to accept, test and adopt new, ¿allien¿ ways of thinking and working. By personally experiencing the similarities and differences in past and presence, the interest for a collective Europe shall arise. Despite all cultural and language barriers, an intense exchange of information and ideas will allow the participants to acquire intercultural competencies and are thus contributing to the communication and the better understanding between the nations.
