<<

I have been employed since 2001 by the Management Information Systems (MIS) Subject Area in UCD.    I completed my PhD in December 2009, and since then I have been teaching in UCD and working on my research agenda.

Prior to joining UCD and pursuing my doctoral studies (2001), I worked with an international business consulting company  -VISION Consulting which employed over 400 people.  One of my roles there included Personal Business Manager for the CEO Billy Glennon, which an initiative to fast track people by giving them experience of working closely with Director level people.

Prior to that, I worked at MITRE (in Boston) an offshoot of MIT for 9 years where I managed a number of systems engineering projects primarily for the US Air Force.  During the course of this work, I published technical papers which were for distribution both inside MITRE and for public distribution. MITRE is a research Facility funded by the US Department Defence.  MITRE employees 7,600 scientists, engineers and support specialists.

Prior to MITRE, I worked as a Software Engineer at MIT Lincoln Lab, Boston, USA. (Educational Institution; Defence & Space industry)

·         My current research area is in the field of behavioural decision-making which focuses on the role of emotions and the unconscious in decision making. I am currently working on research papers based on data from my PhD and further studies.

  1.       The morphology of a Bubble Market - Evidence from the Dublin House Auction Market.
  2.        Behavioural Biases on Individual House Purchase Decisions: Multi-Criteria  Decision-Making Approach."
  3.          A Psychoanalytic Interpretation of Irish House Auctions Valuations.
  4.        The role of culture and behavioural biases for the Irish Property Purchaser.  This paper focuses on Innovation and Culture & the Irish Psyche.  It forges a link between the Irish obsession with property ownership and the deep psychological underpinning in Irish History from our colonial past.
  5.          The Role of the Dublin Residential Auction Market in Fueling the Property Bubble.
