Brian Fynes is Professor of Supply Chain Management at the School of Business, University College Dublin. Prior to that he was on the Faculty of London Business School where he was EU Marie Curie Research Fellow at the Centre for Operations Management. His research interests focus on supply chain practices and performance in manufacturing and service industries. He has acted as a consultant and adviser on supply chain issues to a wide range of companies and government agencies. He co-authored Made in Ireland, a benchmarking study of Irish SMEs, in association with Enterprise Ireland in 2001 and in 2006 co-authored Made in Ireland II: Have Things Changed? (in press).He has published over 30 articles journals such as Production and Operations Management, the International Journal of Production Research, the International Journal of Operations & Production Management, the International Journal of Production Economics, the Journal of Purchasing & Supply Management, the International Journal of Physical Distribution & Materials Management, the International Journal of Service Industries Management and the European Management Journal. He is currently Principal Investigator on two research projects: (a) the IBM On-Demand Supply Chain Research Consortium and (b) the Global Manufacturing Research Group.
