ELENA BLOKHINA received the M.Sc. (with honors) and Ph.D. degrees in physics from Saratov State University, Russia, in 2002 and 2005, respectively. Her PhD thesis was on nonlinear dynamics as a tool of analysis, interpretation and modeling of complex distributed systems. From 2005 to 2007 she was a research scientist at Saratov State University, where she worked on the analysis and modeling of microwave devices. Since 2007, she has been with the Circuits and Systems Research Group, University College Dublin, Ireland, and is currently a research manager. She has been a visiting researcher in the Technical University of Catalonia (the Micro and Nano technologies Group) and in Université Pierre et Marie Curie (the Laboratoire d'Informatique de Paris 6). Dr. Blokhina was a recipient of the Scholarship of the Saratov Region Administration (1998-2001) and of a personal research grant issued by CRDF in biophysics and nonlinear dynamics for young scientists (1999-2004). Dr. Blokhina is a member of the IEEE and was the secretary of the IEEE Saratov-Penza AP/ED/MTT/CPMT/NPSS Joint Chapter in 2006 and 2007. From 2012 she has been a member of the IEEE Technical Committee on Nonlinear Circuits and Systems. Dr. Blokhina serves as a reviewer/review committee member for a number of international conferences and journals. Her research interests include nonlinear dynamics of oscillations and waves and their application to the analysis and control of MEMS and energy harvesters. |
