Biography

Paul F. Curran was born in Co. Cork, Ireland in 1965. He received the B.E. degree in Electronic Engineering from University College Dublin in 1987 and was awarded the Ph.D. degree by the National University of Ireland in 1991. He received a Fulbright Fellowship in 1996 and conducted research at the Nonlinear Electronics Laboratory, University of California at Berkeley from 1996 to 1997. In 2000 he undertook collaborative research in the School of Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications at the University of New South Wales. He has been a College Lecturer in Electronic and Electrical Engineering in UCD since 1991.

Research

Research Interests

His main research interests are in the field of stability of non-linear and/or time-varying systems, with particular emphasis on Lur'e systems, switching systems and neural networks. Other interests include synchronisation theory (with particular emphasis on the synchronisation of chaotic systems) and the theory of wavelets.
