Ian Cornelius BA, M.Litt., Ph.D., is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Information and Library Studies.  His main research interests are in Theories of Information,  Interpretation in Information Science, and Information Policy.  

He was Head of the UCD School of Information and Library Studies from January 2007 until August 2009.

He has held academic posts in Australia and in Columbia University in New York and he has been a Visiting Fellow in the Department of Social and Political Science at the European University Institute in Florence, Italy. 

He is also an Honorary Research Fellow in the Department of Information Studies, University College London.
