Biography

Mary Clayton joined UCD in 1982. She was educated in UCC (BA 1975), the University of Munich, UCC (MA 1978) and St Hilda¿s College, Oxford (DPhil. 1983). She has twice been a Fulbright Visiting Professor in the United States (1988-89 in Harvard, 1996 in University of California at Berkeley). She is on the Advisory Editorial Board of Anglo-Saxon England and was President of the International Society of Anglo-Saxonists from 2011-2013. She is a member of the Royal Irish Academy. She retired from UCD in December 2014 and was appointed an Adjunct Professor.
