Biography

Colin Lahive is a National University of Ireland Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the School of English, Drama and Film. Prior to coming to UCD in October 2014 as an Irish Research Council Postdoctoral Fellow, he taught in the School of English at University College Cork, where he also completed his B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. degrees.

Research

Research Interests

Colin's research and teaching interests lie in the field of early modern English literature. Specifically, his research focuses on the literature and political culture of the seventeenth century, especially the work of John Milton. He is currently working on a book-length project on Milton's use of romance as well as a number of journal articles focusing on the work of Thomas May, Caroline court culture in the 1630s, and seventeenth-century romance.
