I teach in Drama Studies in the School of English Drama & Film. I am the current Head of Drama Studies, and director of the MA in Theatre Practice - a new UCD programme in partnership with the Gaiety School of Acting, Dublin.
My research interests are contemporary Irish and German dance theatre, and Irish performance. I lecture at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and teach a number of practice-as-research modules.
My background is in dance as choreographer and as performer. I was a founder member of Company Vivienne Newport, Theater am Turm, Frankfurt (Germany) and a member of Tanztheater Wuppertal (director, Pina Bausch). I most recently performed with Raimund Hogue (Germany).
