Aggie joined the UCD School of Geological Sciences in August 2009 and was appointed Lecturer in September 2014.  She teaches Sedimentology and Volcanology to 3rd year students and Sedimentology and Palaeobiology to 2nd year students.  She also contributes practical training to the MSc Petroleum Geoscience.

She graduated from the Department of Geology at the University of Patras in Greece, doing fieldwork in some of the best geological settings in the world. She completed the M.Sc. in Oceanography of the University of Southampton and then a Ph.D. at the National Oceanography Centre, Southampton (UK). Her Ph.D. thesis was on submarine gravity flows (slides and turbidity currents) south of the Canary Islands on the NW African margin.  Following that, in 2006, she joined the 3D Lab at Cardiff University as a post-doctoral research associate and was a member of the industry-funded CAPROCKS consortium. Her role was the 3D seismic interpretation of slope systems, considering their genesis as well as their potential seal effectiveness.

In August of 2009 Aggie joined the Marine and Petroleum Geology Research Group at UCD as a Griffith Geoscience Post-Doctoral Research Fellow. She is the PI of a project investigating "Glacial and non-glacial sediment transport in the Rockall Trough", looking at the frequency of submarine slides and the contribution of the British Irish Ice Sheet to the sedimentary architecture of the Rockall Trough and considering the present-day geohazard from slope instabilities in the Irish offshore. She is also co-chief scientist on a Eurofleets-funded research project, CUMECS, which is examining canyon processes on sediment-starved margins and uses the Malta-Sicily Escarpment in the Central Mediterranean Sea as a case study area.
