Biography

Lai Ma is Lecturer at the School of Information and Library Studies at University College Dublin. She is currently serving as Chair of the European Chapter and SIG Cabinet Advisor of Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T). Lai received her PhD and MLIS from Indiana University-Bloomington.

Research

Research Interests

Conceptions of information in relation to epistemology, methodology, cultural, political, and social phenomena, and the construction of information infrastructures. My current project investigates social epistemology as a theoretical framework for the study of information and information infrastructures, including sub-topics such as open access, intellectual property, authority, and responsibility.
