| I am a historical linguist and dialectologist who is also interested in one area of applied linguistics, namely language teaching methods. Most of my research falls under the following themes: 1. Gaelic dialects of Ireland, Scotland and the Isle of Man. 2. Historical development of the language since c. AD 1200. 3. The verbal systems of Irish and other Celtic languages. 4. Pedagogical grammar of Irish. 5. Language and literature of west Kerry.
Is teangeolaí stairiúil agus canúineolaí mé agus tá suim agam i ngné amháin den teangeolaíocht fheidhmeach chomh maith .i. modhanna múinte teanga. Baineann formhór mór mo chuid taighde leis na téamaí seo a leanas: 1. Canúintí Gaeilge na hÉireann, na hAlban agus Oileáin Mhanann. 2. Forás stairiúil na teanga ó c. AD 1200 i leith. 3. Córais bhriathartha na Gaeilge agus na nua-theangacha Ceilteacha eile. 4. Gramadach teagaisc na Gaeilge. 5. Teanga agus litríocht Chorca Dhuibhne.Tionscadail reatha:
