Biography:

Feidhlim O'Neill is currently employed as the Research Manager of the Surface Engineering Research Group at University College Dublin. The role involves company liaison, research proposal preparation/reporting and account management (currently reporting on 15 research accounts). He has extensive experience in developing, leading and motivating researchers in Industrial-Academic partnerships. He has developed a range of project management skills including account management, financial and technical reporting, electronic procurement and strategic project planning. He has experience of the wider industrial research environment having worked at Agilent Technologies, California, USA and also at the National Physical Laboratory, London, UK. His core technical skills are related to the design of polymer materials, optical element fabrication and surface modification of the chemical, physical and biological properties of aerospace grade composite materials using atmospheric plasma treatments. He has presented lectures in Bio-photonics and Bio-Physics at Dublin City University (2007-2009). He is a member of the international society for optics and photonics (SPIE). He has an excellent research record with 34 peer-reviewed publications and 58 conference papers (h-index: 15, source: Web of Science).
