Biography

As a Lecturer in Diagnostic Imaging University College Dublin, I am deeply committed to excellence in teaching and research at University level.

Teaching:
I have considerable interest in the impact of approaches to teaching and assessment, and engagement in curriculum design. Over the past three years, I have delivered laboratory-based teaching, lectures and tutorials. I have acted as temporary Clinical Practice Tutor in Beaumont Hospital and in the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital, carrying out tutorials and clinical assessments on site.  I am currently module co-ordinator for three undergraduate modules and am temporarily acting as Erasmus co-ordinator and Stage 1 co-ordinator.

Research:
I am a Stage 2 Translational Medicine PhD Researcher in University College Dublin and have presented this research at a number of international conferences. My research involves optimising Computed Tomography of obese paediatric patients. I am Primary Supervisor to three undergraduate researchers. I believe research is imperative for the professional development of radiography because imaging is a field of constant evolution, and literature must be continuously updated.

Clinical:
I have developed my clinical experience across all general areas working in University Hospital Galway initially, and then in Global Diagnostics. I have trained a number of new radiographers in Global Diagnostics and have carried out clinical audits.
