| Integration of proteomics and recombinant protein and antibody arrays and technology development to advance research programmes in the areas of Oncology, Inflammation, Neurobiology and Cardiovascular disease. A major focus of our research is the generation of collections of recombinant proteins using protein expression/cDNA library technology and its application to cell biology and biomedicine. Biomarker discovery involving profiling the humoral response or antibody repertoire in serum to identify protein panels which could potentially be used as a diagnostic tool for patients with various conditions such as auto-immune diseases or cancer. Technology development: Where required, developing technologies to improve or expand application areas. Technology development performed in areas of Vector design, novel protein expression systems, co-development of surfaces for protein and antibody arrays, high-throughput, low volume protein expression and purification systems, high density antibody arrays, interaction screening, such as protein-protein, peptide-protein, binder-protein. Using protein arrays to characterise antibody and other binder specificity and cross-reactivity and to perform interaction studies in high throughput. Currently developing new applications in Nanotechnology, large scale biology and developing compound - protein interaction technologies |
