Head of Subject: Primary, Community and Public Health Nursing.

Programme Co-ordinator: UCD Graduate Diploma in Nursing (Public Health).

 Dr. Ann Donohoe is a lecturer in the School of Nursing, Midwifery & Health Systems (SNMHS) at University College Dublin. She is Head of Subject for Primary, Community & Public Health Nursing at UCD and is also a member of the School Executive. In her role as Head of Subject, Dr. Donohoe is actively engaged in promoting community nursing at national and international nursing fora. She is also involved in developing and representing community nurse education at School, College and University levels. Dr. Donohoe has a variety of teaching interests which focus primarily on the development of public health nursing and community nursing at interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary levels. She is the programme co-ordinator of the UCD Graduate Diploma in Nursing (Public Health) and has a particular interest in exploring the continuing professional development needs of nurses and other healthcare professionals working within a community context.  Dr. Donohoe has research expertise in devising innovative pedagogical approaches to teaching and learning in higher education. She has also conducted research into the use of blended and e-learning approaches which are specifically designed to facilitate nurses to reflect on clinical nursing practice. Dr. Donohoe is currently a member of the  Institute of Community Health Nursing and sits on the governing council.
