Biography

Marie Joined UCD in 2003 where she took up the role of medical trainee and anatomy demonstrator in the former anatomy department at Earlsfort Terrace. In 2006, Marie took up the role of lecturer in the School of Nursing, Midwifery & Health Systems where she delivers anatomy, pathology & embryology lectures to undergraduate and postgraduate nursing students. Marie is Programme Director for the BSc General Nursing programme in the School of Nursing, Midwifery & Health Systems.

Research

Research Interests

Research interests include:
The effect of selective and non selective COX inhibitors on the morphology of the murine kidney, using a variety of techniques which include light microscopy, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, lectin histochemistry, western blotting, TEM and SEM.

The use of the anatomy dissecting room as an educational tool.

Nursing students perceptions on the use of anatomical prosections as an educational tool.
The pschyosocial impact of cadaveric dissection on undergraduate students.
