Biography:

Dr Luis León Vintró is a Physics graduate from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (Spain). Having completed his B.Sc.(Hons) in 1991, he gained a Ph.D. (NUI-UCD) in Radiation Physics in 1997 for his work on the determination of transuranium isotopic signatures in environmental materials and their application to the study of marine processes. In 1996, he was awarded a post-doctoral fellowship under the EC Human Capital and Mobility of Researchers (Networks) Programme to study sediment and water transport processes in coastal environments. He became a member of staff of the School of Physics at UCD in 1998, and was promoted to a senior lecturership in 2005.
