School Of Politics & Int Relations
Vladimir is an Irish Research Council Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the School of Politics and International Relations at UCD where he researches the formation of religious identities of young migrants and people with migration background in Ireland and Germany. He is also a Research Associate at the Von Hugel Institute and an Associate Member of the St Edmund¿s College at the University of Cambridge. Vlado has taught and supervised undergraduate and graduate courses in international relations; political science; ethics and world affairs; fundamentalism and religious violence; politics, religion and migration; and politics of peace and conflict at Trinity College Dublin, University of Groningen and University of Cambridge. He studied Politics and International Studies at the University of Cambridge, International Peace Studies at Trinity College Dublin and Theology/Religious Studies at Comenius University in Bratislava. He also pursued studies at Humboldt University Berlin, Georg-August University in Göttingen, the University of Ottawa, Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen and Friedrich-Alexander University in Erlangen-Nürnberg. He has professional experience with the United Nations Secretariat (Department of Peacekeeping Operations, Mine Action Service), Amnesty International, international NGOs and civil society organisations. He has collaborated with European and international youth and student networks and associations. His research interests include migration and religion; ethnic and religious conflicts; conflict and identity politics; European Union (CSDP missions and operations); and United Nations (peacekeeping and peacebuilding).

As a scholar trained in politics and international relations, peace and conflict studies, sociology, religious studies and theology, Vlado researches various intersections of religion, social issues and international affairs. He offers expertise in religion and migration; the role of religion in conflict and peace; ethnic and religious conflicts; religion and international relations; human rights; mediation and negotiation; theories and practices of peacebuilding; the United Nations peacekeeping; the EU Common Security and Defence Policy missions and operations; Mali and Western Balkans.
