Biography
Eilis Hennessy is senior lecturer in developmental psychology in UCD School of Psychology and was Head of School from 2009 to 2012. She has previously held lecturing positions in the Psychology Department in Sheffield University, and University College Cork and was a research officer in the Thomas Coram Research Unit in the University of London for two years. She joined UCD School of Psychology in 1996 and was lecturer in psychology from then until 2005.

Teaching Philosophy
| I aim to support student learning through personal interactions and provision of well-designed material that can be accessed outside class-time. I encourage students to develop transferrable cognitive, social and personal skills. I facilitate independent learning and collaboration with peers. |

| Head of Teaching & Learning in the UCD School of Psychology from 2005-2009. UCD Fellow in Teaching and Academic Development from 2007-2009. I have researched and written about my teaching and published findings in peer reviewed journals as well as presenting them at international conferences. Conferences include: Society for Research into Higher Education Annual Conference; 11th European Congress of Psychology; Psychological Society of Ireland Annual Conference. A collaborative study on modularisation was published in Teaching in Higher Education. |
