Biography

I am a Chartered Health Psychologist (Psychological Society of Ireland) and member of the European Health Psychology Society, the International Psycho-Oncology Society and the Society for Community Research and Action (SCRA). More recently I have trained as a Personal and Business Coach and I am a member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF).

I have almost 20 years experience teaching in UCD across a number of disciplines in addition to my duties as Research Laboratory manager with the School of Psychology. I was also the Director of Research and Head of the Dept. of Psychology at All Hallows College, a college of DCU until it closed in 2016.

I completed my doctoral research in Psycho-oncology with a focus on cancer survivorship in Ireland and developed the first formal multidisciplinary rehabilitation programme for post-treatment survivors in Ireland. This research was funded by HSE Dublin-Mid Leinster and was the largest funded research project in Psycho-oncology in Ireland at that time.
