Research

Research Interests

My research area is primarily in the area of cognitive neuroscience, with an increasing focus on developing quantitative methods for neuroimaging. The vast majority of my work is directed towards answering clinically relevant questions, using both structural and functional magnetic resonance imaging  (MRI) and high-density electroencephalography (EEG). I am particularly interested in the use of large sample sizes to improve our understanding of brain systems in disease and health. To this end, I have lead, and been involved in, a number of large-sample data analyses (>1,000 participants) and the development of novel methods for analyzing large data sets: fully automated signal processing for high-density EEG (the FASTER toolbox) and multimodal machine learning classifiers for functional MRI analysis. I am currently working on developing methods to better exploit high-dimensional neural and genetic data, and on relating these data to clinically relevant phenotypes.
